Designed transitional courses to fill home-school language gap lead to better language development of rural students, suggests research study

According to Kishore, the research was undertaken to begin language learning by non-starter and dropout girls of small habitations of rural Rajasthan by fixing transitional vocabulary building of 15 words through dialect based rhyming and padding strategy for Hindi synonyms. Use of recitation, flashcards and worksheets was done for 10 hour course spread over 15 days. The challenge was to fill the school and home language gap, i.e., between Dundari and Hindi.

The board game was prepared for playing was made using one-fourth sized standard card-sheet, a dice made of origami and colour counters. Since differently abled children require individualization and one-to-one situation, the board was created as individualised strips. Since educational therapy has in-built wellbeing element that requires a process and protocol to be followed by classroom instructors. The outcomes of the study were the standard contextualized game board design; a protocol manual for classroom instructors to practice education therapy; and a learning material in form of worksheet for diagnosis and corrective practice.
