Soda straw – an inexpensive material – can be used for quite a few experiments of school physics, of which, straw saxophone is both amusing and educative. It can be used to demonstrate that sound is produced by vibrations as well as pitch of sound increases as you shorten the length of the straw (Kishore 1999)
