It is now widely accepted that conventional rhymes are unsuitable for children with learning disabilities because of their wordiness, use of words that the children cannot visualise or associate from their everyday experience, and the poems are too lengthy. There is dearth of literature and suitable instructional aids for children with special needs. The Research Unit at Disha has prepared one line poems along with flash cards and developed methodology of repetitive rendition of the poems with visual support to be taken up during the training
