Tearing paper along the out-lined shapes and sticking them encourages the fine motor development of fingers of both hands and co-ordination skills. In order to tear paper, the child with special needs will learn to hold the paper between the thumb and pointing finger of each hand leading to better pinch and pincer grasp which essential for better tripod grasp of pencil later.(Kishore 2019)
