Using straws as rolling axles, it can be easily demonstrated that rolling friction is less than the sliding friction. Th uses of ball and roller bearing in reducing friction in machines and vehicles can be explained through the experiment. The rollers and balls reduce the surface area in contact in movement to reduce friction (Kishore , 1999).
