Which is better: Celebration of birthdays through lavish parties or accomplishment of developmental milestones through sharing of happiness?

Kishore (2019) thinks that as a copy-cat, the birthdays of special children should never be celebrated since they hardly make any sense out of the event except gratification of a lower instinct and become demanding of sweets and goodies. We, teachers and parents, need share happiness on accomplishment of the developmental milestone of the child rather than celebrating year wise birthday.
