According to Kishore (2017), Makaton being a multi-modal communication tool can be easily incorporated to teach children with learning disability. Special educators would have to learn how to draw visual code for various lessons and build look-and-say vocabulary first of keywords and then take up the echo-speaking mode of learning. Kishore (2018a) finds Makaton system of communication suitable for children with special needs and stresses the need of its use in schools for language and cognitive development. It is helpful in building vocabulary. Kishore (2018b) proposes Makaton-based science instruction and suggests a process by creating signs and symbols for words that are used for communicating science Kishore (2018d) suggests that for inclusion, the ways of communicating with differently abled or special needs people, basic Makaton vocabulary learning is essential.
